Elapsed Time Scoring

Most of our races are to be entered giving elapsed time for each
competitor (only pursuit races are to be entered as a place). I find
that for each competitor I have to click on the elapsed time button
before entering the time in the box - a pain if you forget because
when you try scoring the system comes back and says there is a
mismatch but not where!

Is there any way to set the radio buttons to elapsed time as a default?

for v1.57:

    * Edit Scoring System
    * Race Scoring
    * change Finishes to Finish Time

You can also right click individual race column headers to do this, and set up the race start times, on a race-by-race basis.

On version 1.84 (onwards) you set the default under the series options (race scoring tab), but can then override this by editing the race by either right clicking on the race column or within the sail number wizard - select the start to be edited and then click edit, and amend the Finishes to be recorded as drop down box.

This is also where you find the information for the course, wind strength etc that used to be seen on the front sheet when editing a race.

I hope that this helps.

FYI - We avoid using elapsed time scoring
and instead record the start and finish times and allow sailwave to calculate the
elapsed time. If the RC synchronizes their watches with a GPS you never need to
worry about accidentally stopping the watch recording the elapsed time.
