I'm brand new to SW, so apologies if these are rather basic questions.
.... When I enter text in say the new competitor box it is slightly
illegible, ie some letters are crushed together, some are greyed out.
When the data is saves it appears perfectly on the main screen.
For what it is worth I am using Version 1.94 Build 29 on MS Vista.Am
I doing something wrong?
.....To get some practice I have entered some data from a series last
year. Finish times were entered in the finish wizard. The race column
in the main series page shows the elapsed time, or if I switch to
something different in the viewing pane I can bring up start times
etc.
Can I bring up a page relating to an individual race which shows
start times, finish times, elapsed times and say corrected times all
one one sheet? Ideally so that they can then be published. At present
when I publish all that is shown are the elapsed times.
On the first question here, I remember having the same problem with
Sailwave years ago on my laptop. I remember that switching Cleartype
off in the Windows display settings sorted this out.
Unfortunately I haven't got access to either that old laptop, or Vista
at the moment, so no idea if this is what you're seeing at the moment,
or if its possible to switch off Cleartype in Vista.

The easy way… From Windows Explorer, click on <?> then Help and type “Cleartype” then use the second link, this gives help on how to activate and a shortcut to the dispaly parameters window, then click on …

In XP you do it through the Display settings. Either from Control
Panel open the Display icon (you might have to click on "Appearance
and Themes" first) or just right click on an empty bit of your desktop
and select Properties.
Then click the Appearance tab, then the Effects button. You should
then see:
"Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:"
You can experiment between "ClearType", "Standard" and switching it
off entirely.
If the problem is just that ClearType's looking a bit fuzzy or
something like that, you can tune it using Microsoft's online
Cleartype tuner: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/Step1.aspx
(obviously only works in Internet Explorer).

Please remind me how you turn clear type on/off I have another
problem at
the moment that I believe is related to this and just want to check
