Event categories?

Hi,

I'm hoping to use Sailwave to help with the National circuit results of my class (Merlin Rocket). Although this may seem simple, the Silver Tiller circuit is comprised of a number of events in three different categories; sea, open and restricted water. To qualify on the circuit, each helm must count at least one result from each category; is it possible to configure a discard profile to allow for this?

As a further twist, the points awarded to the winners of each event vary according to the number of entries at each event - a win at a large event is worth more than a win at a small one. Presumably it is possible to weight the points awarded to reflect this using the custom low point option, but how do I configure this? The point 'discount' is done on a tiered basis; less than 19 entries, 20 - 29 entries, 30 - 39 etc.

There is currently a facility to force a single race to be included. The
todo list has a note to extend this to force inclusion of 'N out of these M
specified races'. I can't give you a date but it's on the list.

To accommodate scoring systems like Cox-Sprague and their derivatives I've
designed but not implemented a new way of specifying points in a scoring
profile. Essentially you define tuples specifying the points to score when
you finish in 'this' position and 'this' many boats came to the start area.
That's the basic idea and you will be able to specify a file containing this
data which can be created by hand, but there will be some nice user
interfaces to it. Again on the todo list...

I'm rearranging a huge part of Sailwave at the moment to make it more
configurable from a user POV while hopefully keeping it simple to use
out-of-the-box using a default 'configuration'.
