Event & Venue Burgee

All,

I can't get the Event & Venue Burgee's to publish. I'm using 1.94
build 27.

Have setup the Series Options with the location of .JPGs for event &
venue, Published the series to browser using the "Results" template,
but there's no images on the results.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have this problem now and again, too. I now just put the relevant
.jpg files in the Sailwave program folder on my PC, in the results
folder on my PC and in my clubs web site results folder - which one is
‘correct’? - who cares, it works :wink:

It looks like the problem is because I'm using Firefox browser
(version 1.5.0.7) Firefox doesn't display the burgee images in the
templates - If I use IE6, Burgee images appear OK.

I don't know if this is a Sailwave bug, or a Firefox one...

Might be a combination of both…

Using my scatter gun ‘method’, Firefox 1.0.7 displays OK.

This is neither Firefox nor Sailwave bug. The bug is actually in
Internet Explorer. When you specify the burgee location, selecting it
from a dialog, it is kept with it’s full path and filename
(c:\burgees\burgee.jpg). When you publish the results with the burgee
location like this, Firefox refuses to load it, even it can access it -
this is a build-in security restriction - web pages can not access
files on the local file system. IE on the other hand does not block
local images, but the only one that sees them is you, since they are on
your computer.

The right way to address the issue is to specify the burgee location
either with it’s full URL () or
only with the path (relative or absolute). You can put only the name of
the file and put the resulting html files and images on the same folder
on your computer and on the web server.

Could be Firefox, some CSS styles are not shown properly.

I found the same with Netscape using the option “Display like Firefox” but not using the option “Display like Internet Explorer”…
