Exclude A Race from a given Scoring System

I don't see a way to transparently do this, nor did I see it on the
development list, so I suppose this is request for the future:

A given race at our club may be part of more than one series (e.g.
Spring Series, Overall Fleet Series, Overall Handicap Series, or Mini-
Regatta series), or because of the way the race was conducted, it
might have to be excluded from one of the series but not another.

I like the present capability of being able to apply different scoring
systems to the same collection of races, but to take it just a
little farther, it would be nice to be able to specify within that
scoring system which races to exclude (i.e. not score or use for a
series result) or include as the case may be.

Why not save the series with a new name (i.e. Overall, Spring etc.), then remove the race tha shall not count (i.e. be deleted) and then score it?

It will not be used for anything in that scoring/series, but you can open the previous file and continue to use it there,

It’s not perfect for you, but it will be one option less for me to consider…

The capability of appying different scoringsystem to the same collection of races, is in my mind the ability to have several classes in one file… Say, Opties who shall discard 1 race after 4 races and then no more discards, while 29ers discards 1 every fifth race… BUT: All sailed races will count.

That is exactly what I have been doing. The problem is that for
various reasons - error made by the race committee, errors by scorer,
overlooked regatta credit, etc. etc., I have to go back and change a
race result. That means going back to each individual file and
changing it there before once again regenerating results. Of course,
the more I think about it, doing it the way I suggested might
introduce its own complications in other ways.

It is in the list, as something like "only apply a scoring system to the
specified races and competitors" - or if it's not it's in my head. In this
way a scoring system can be applied to any set of cells in the main list,
the idea being to let scoring systems flow into one another for quals and
finals - a better method than now. But when will it get done - i dunno -
under severe time constraints at the present. Current hack is to bust the
series up into more than one and/or mark races as 'discard me first'.
