I am new to Sailwave, but have experimented with scoring a High Point
long series. Everything seams stright forward, but I am trying to
figure out how to exclude DNC from counting towards the sailors total
races. The reason. We calculate drops based on total races by
skipper above qualifing races. Skipper A sailing all 27 races needs 13
races to qualify (50%), so every three races over 13 he/she gets 1
drop. In this case 4 races droped (12/3=4). Skipper B sails 20 races
and qualifies with 13, but only can drop 2 races (7/3=2 rounddown).
So, does anyone know how to exclude DNC from counting towards the
total number of races when scoring a long series using high point
method?
Thanks
High point, no problem.
I assume you discovered the User Interface (UI) and activated high point systems.
Then you define the scoring system and update the Codes scoring (second tab _/ Scoring Codes \_). Select scoring system and edit
DNC must be configured as <Fixed Points of > and 0 value in the top right "value" box
DNS must be configured as <Boats in Race +> instead of <Boats in Series +> and value should be 1 or 0 according to the system.

Seems a strange scoring method. Different skippers can different numbers of drops?

Climb to the top of the charts! Play the word scramble challenge with star power. Play now!
Perhaps if you described how you want to score someone might be able to
help. What you have written so far doesn't really make sense for a "high
point" system.
On the other hand, if you are using a "percentage" system (where total
points are divided by total races sailed ala Cox-Sprague) then what you
have written could be logical. Boats with more races would get to throw
out their worst races before averaging. I don't know whether Sailwave
can score a "percentage" system but I couldn't find any way to do it.
