Excluded boats and published results

So I’m using the file from last year and some competitors have not yet participated in any race. I have selected “mark all unsailed competitors as excluded” which works for the individual races but not the global fleet results. Any way to get them out without deleted them?

Hi Louis,
Welcome back to the SUG forum.

Short answer to you question is yes.

If you click the little x icon on the toolbar that will hide excluded competitors and they will then not be published. The other way to hide excluded competitors is to select’ Hide excluded competitors’ on the View menu.

Usually the left most column will show a little x for competitors that have been excluded but the column may have been hidden.

Kind regards,
Huw

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi, this is exactly what i was also looking for, very helpful.
but you have to remember to toggle this button before and after publishing.

Hi Robert

Could you explain a little more

You can normally leave the hide excluded competitors on as you don’t want it on when you score or publish

When you use the Sailno wizard to enter results there is a check box “Include excluded competitors” so if you tick this box the you can use the excluded competitors if they turn up to race

Hi John,

I am talking here for club races, not regattas,

Being a small club, I Similarly have a few members who have sailed in the past, who are still members, and occasionally race, so its easier to keep them entered, and I just make a copy of the file at the end of the year, for next year, to also keep all the scoring settings. Then delete those who have not raced in the series and rescore to get final results.

With it easier to view them on screen when inputting results than to go chase the competitors details to re enter, being able to hide those who have not raced in the series so far when publishing is helpful.

I have attached one of my current race series files for you to look at, any suggestions would be great.

I am slowly getting around all the little tricks to use Sailwave efficiently.

Thanks for a great programme, its brilliant.

Thanks Robert
