I have been following the method on posts from last year, but I can't
get this
feature to work. I want to have a data base of competitors for club
racing, who are entered into every race, but are only scored dnc after
they have sailed a race in a series. Using the edit menu if I mark all
unsailed competitors as excluded after the 1st race, and mark all
sailed competitors as included it works and only shows no dnc results.
But competitors then stay excluded in the next race and are not
recognised using the results entry wizard. Also you can't reset the
unsailed cpmpetors on the edit menu. This is a major inconvenience as
it makes it impossible to save the entries from one series to the
next, and have the dnc results correctly scored. I have also found the
view - hide all excluded competitors must
be marked to publish correctly. Please help - must get this sorted
before start of season.

Mike,
Don't exclude manually.
Before entering the first race, use the menu item Edit > Mark all unsailed competitors as excluded. They are all excluded.
Enter and score one race.
Then use the menu item Edit > Mark all sailed competitors as included and all competitors of this ace are no longer excluded.
Do it again after each race.
Problem, for series lasting longer than a regatta, it could be appropriate to alter the default points for codes. Usually for High point systems, set DNC fixed as 0, and DNF (as master for the other codes) as based of the number of boats that came in the starting area instead of number of entries...

Following on to the inclusion of the Sailwave plugin that allows you to
easily upload your results to the SailRacer Results Database you may be
interested in the latest module to cover Online Entry.
This has evolved over the last two years with the Mirror Class Association,
and already processed over 1,000 entries with credit card payments, and now
available to other event organisers.
The system is being used extensively by the RYA for entry to their events
and squads, current event UK Youth Nationals :
http://www.sailracer.co.uk/ryaevents/eventdetails.asp?eventid=286
The Online Entry System simplifies the entry process for competitors and
automates much of the event admin. There are many facilities, including
the ability for competitors to edit an entry, event organisers to send
personalised broadcast emails and comprehensive reporting etc etc.
Each event can have its own micro site, customised to your style, with
event news, documents, contacts, gallery, noticeboard and searchable
results.
http://www.sailracer.co.uk/aboutus.asp
The online entry system is free to use, with a small transaction fee if you
use the credit card processing.

Thanks very much for this. I have been using SW for 5 years and didn't
know you could enter results by double clicking on the cell for the
BOAT/RACE. When you do it this way it automatically includes EXCLUDED
boats. Up until now I have always used the SAIL NO WIZARD. Using the
SAIL NO WIZARD you have to double click on the BOAT NAME and uncheck
the exclude button. I wonder what other peoples experience is, is it
diffucult with a big fleet to find the correct CELL or is it better to
use the SAIL NO WIZARD. Combined with using the FEE column together
with this way of including boats, means you can maintain a single
register of boats the season and then just import it from one series
to the next. Absolutely great.

You discover a lot about Sailwave by creating a locale...
While I was translating I found such expressions, so I tried to find the ay to the right window and see how it was working.
