Exporting to .xls (spreadsheets)

It it just me, or has the ability to export CSV files vanished from the program?

I tried the XML -format, but it doesn’t import to Excel correctly.

It has always been “Export series summary to a Windows clipboard”
Then past into an Excel spreadsheet.

I find that if I do that, it copies all the data into one cell.

I copy the data into Notepad and save it as a *.csv file, then open that with Excel.

Hi Malcom,

It works fine just pasting directly into Excel. Make sure you have the field separator set to Tab (which is the default)

That is partly accurate. To get a CSV you need to Export to the
clipboard and then past into Notepad or a similar text-editing program
and save with the CSV extension. When exporting check the "Comma" box so
the field separator is a comma.

You can also paste directly into Excel (rather than create a CSV file)
but in that case you want the field separator to be a tab so check the
"Tab" box instead. You can then save that file as a CSV file (but the
Notepad method is slightly more straight-forward).

You can also publish to Excel but that is something completely different
as I believe it merely opens the standard HTML output file in Excel.
