Hi John,

I am sorry you are having problems publishing to the Sailwave web.

Has anything else changed apart from updating Sailwave, which should not have had any effect on publishing to Sailwave website?

Can you please try publishing to the Sailwave website with only test.htm in the file name? If this fails please go to Setup | Global settings and select the FTP tab and check the box ’ Use passive transfer…’ if not checked or remove check if it is checked. Now try publishing again.

I f one of these is successful, it may be the name you have used for the file to be published has characters that are not acceptable. The file name can only included characters A-Za-z0-9 and - & _.

Going back to an earlier version is unlikely to resolve the issue.

Kind regards,
Huw

Tthanks so much ,Huw, turning on the passive transfer worked to post my files to the sailwave site. ( It was not re posting updates of past Posting) So the ftp is not filled in at all ( not sure if I even filled it in years ago when i started using sailwave. I used to be able to use the email to myself in sailwave but that stopped working last year (new laptop ? ) if I fill that in email should start working again? when I tested it in smtp (not filled in )comes up file not found.
we do not have a website that i post from . so in the base url or is that internet company for do i leave that open and fill in below ? It so nice of you the help the helpless, lol

Hi John

If you are publishing to the Sailwave Results folder - do not fill anything in the ftp details; leave them all blank, the only thing there is the use Passive transfer box which can be necessary to toggle if you get the Error 0

Hi John,

Pleased to hear that you are now able to publish to the Sailwave website and thank you for letting me know.

As Jon said you leave everything blank on the FTP tab of Global Options when publishing to the Sailwave website, except possibly having to check / uncheck the Passive transfer box.

Regarding email the option to send directly via an email server, was removed from Sailwave in v2-18-5, because some anti-virus malware software were flagging the necessary files that were included in Sailwave as ‘suspicious’.

You can still send the results via email, if there is an email client, like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, installed on the PC. Instead of selecting Sailwave website from the drop down list of publishing destinations, chose ‘An Email - use your email client’ and enter the email address(es) you want the results sent to - separate email emails address with a comma. When you do this and click the Publish button a window will appear for you to compose the email, from your default email client, with an HTML file of the published results attached and a default body text message.

Kind regards,
Huw

Hi John

If you read this

VERSION 2.18.5 BETA | Sailwave

NOTE:- As a lot of antivirus programs don’t like the fact that Sailwave can send emails directly they have been generating false positives that the program is a virus, for this reason and also that many people now use web based mail, the install does not contain the files necessary to send emails. If you require this function you can download the following zip file and unzip it to the same directory that contains the Sailwave.exe typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Sailwave\
