I have just tried the starts feature (in 1.58beta) which allows
filtering of competitors for each start. This would be very handy for
us (Yeadon) as we generally have two starts i.e. for low then high
handicap. Is it possible to filter on rating > x? I could put in a
list of Class = 'Laser' OR Class = 'National 12' etc but I can't edit
the field only populate it using the button. This only has room for
three OR tests.

Not yet but it's planned. The latest beta in development allows for N OR conditions in a list but they are all of the = variety. When that works it'll be a small step to generalising = into other >,< etc or an arbitrary expression itself. V powerful when done. For now use a spare field to put boats into a sub-fleet (or whatever you would like to call it) and then put that in the starts. e.g. use the Club column to assign Low and High etc.

Thanks. Club is the obvious field to use until the other operators
are enabled. By the way (assuming you want feedback on the beta) I
tried Rating='1093' selecting from the drop down list each time and I
got an EXPRESSION IS INVALID. There doesn't seem to be anyway to
clear the left hand side of the logic tests without clearing the lot.
(i.e. get rid of them once tested and proved inadequate)
The software looks good. It's much more comprehensive than we will
ever need. Someone mentioned a "number of races" field. We do
various reports etc at the end of the season, from our existing
spreadsheet system, to convince ourselves that the club is healthy,
enthusiastic and even youthful. I suspect all of this is best done by
exporting the data to a spreadsheet application.
