Finding the FAQs, and setting DNF scoring

My main question is, Where are the FAQs?

I'm sure most of my questions are answered in the FAQs.

If anyone feels like helping me out, here's one question I'm stuck on. In our club racing series, DNF = "Finishers + 2". I can't figure out how to specify this in the scoring code box.

our club racing series, DNF = “Finishers + 2”. I can’t figure out how to
specify this in the scoring code box.

  In the 'scoring code' box double click on DNF  -  under the 'method' tab, click on second option 'Points for position of num boats in race +N'   ensure 'value' at bottom is set to 2   click 'OK'  (if DNF doesn't exist click 'new' and follow as above)

Hmmm, I can see a problem here. I have the version 1.43. Under
Help,
I just have Visit the Sailwave website and About ...

starters rather than the number of finishers?

Hi Louise,

The Sailwave FAQ is available on the front page of the web site
(www.sailwave.com). It used to be in the help file but the trouble was -
that was all that was in the help file and it didn't go down too well with
some folk - so I removed the help file completely; it's less confusing. I
do plan to add help to Sailwave but there is still some dev to do to get it
in a stable enough state for that to happen... Regards, Colin.

PS: WRT Finishers+N, the closest Sailwave can do at present is
BoatsThatCameToTheStartArea+2.

Sorry Louise, I didn’t realise you’d said FINISHERS (I just assumed you meant starters +2)
but I think it’s a great idea, we could all agree not to finish, all get 2 points (better than I’d get if I finished!) AND get to the bar an hour earlier - make the scoring easier too !!!.

Your only other option with Sailwave is to
select the option that allows you to enter points by hand when the code is
entered. My question would be how do you keep the entire bottom half of the
fleet from dropping out of every race?

Hi Louise,

I had the same problem. You need the "sailwave.chm" file which you can
download from the files area and place in your sailwave directory.
As Colin said, it may not be uptodate so it is best to check with the
online copy.
