Firefox does not publish pictures

I am using firefox now, with quite strict security settings.
I note that the venue and event burgee are no longer shown when I publist to my default browser. They do publish to word, excel and IR.
I get this message when I try to view the file:

Any ideas?

This is what is in the box:

‘File not found

Firefox can’t find the file at /c:/Users/Rob/Dropbox/Sports/Sailing/WLBC%20Burgee%202.jpg.

Check the file name for capitalisation or other typing errors.

Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.’

Interesting one this:-

Agree Chrome and IE are happy to display images which are specified by hard coded paths on the local machine. But not Firefox. Though this does seem to have been for a while. I tried Firefox version 23 from August 2013 and it wouldn’t display them. Neither does the latest version 27

The solution seems to be if you want to specify a fixed path to a file on your PC you need to add “File:///” (without the quotes) in front of the filename and this works on FireFox and IE (tested with IE11) and Chrome.

Although if you put the image such as the Event or Venue burgee in the same directory as the blw file such that you don’t specify a path this works without the “File:///” which is what I tend to do anyway.

Alternatively you could use a link to an image on some website but then you will need web access to display your results locally.

Thanks Malcom for the confirmation.

I tried it with a Sailwave results file and with the “File:///” all three Firefox, Chrome, IE worked.

Without the “File:///” Firefox didn’t work, but Chrome and IE did

Although if there was no path specified and the file is in the same directory as the .html file then all three worked

And all three worked if the path was a web path.

Subject: Re: [sailwave] Firefox does not
publish pictures

Interesting one this:-

                      Agree Chrome and IE are

happy to display images which are specified by
hard coded paths on the local machine. But
not Firefox. Though this does seem to have
been for a while. I tried Firefox version 23
from Au gust 2013 and it wouldn’t display
them. Neither does the latest version 27

                        The solution seems to be

if you want to specify a fixed path to a
file on your PC you need to add "File:/// "
(without the quotes) in front of the
filename and this works on FireFox and IE
(tested with IE11) and Chrome.

                        Although if you put the

image such as the Event or Venue burgee in
the same directory as the blw file such that
you don’t specify a path this works without
the "File:/// " which
is what I tend to do anyway.

                        Alternatively you could

use a link to an image on some website but
then you will need web access to display
your results locally.

Firefox does
not publish
pictures

                                                      I am using

firefox now,
with quite
strict
security
settings.
I note that
the venue and
event burgee
are no longer
shown when I
publist to my
default
browser. They
do publish to
word, excel
and IR.
I get this
message when I
try to view
the file:

                                                      Any ideas?
