Fleet results from Handicap races

Hi there,

We are running a handicap series at my club (Draycote Water) and I would like to be able to extrapolate results for just one class of boat from the overall handicap fleet results so that we have in effect a mini series for different classes as well as an overall prize. I have tried to do this but the output I get from the only way I have found to do this mean that the boats still score the same position as they do in the handicap race. I was wondering if it is possible to publish results for one class of boat singled out so that the first of that type of boat scores a 1 in this mini series. Does that make sense?

Is the easiest way to wait until the end of the series and then delete all other boats and save the series as something else?

Also, and i'm no IT boffin, so ignore me if this really is unrealsitic, but is there any chance you could make sailwave work on a windows mobile device as that way I could have all our results sorted before leaving the bar after the races!

Chris,

Short answer yes  You can produce results for a class
or classes. When you click the score Series button on the toolbar - pause, look
at the window and I expect you see Fleet in the grouping field. To the right is
a drop down list arrow, click it and select Class from the list then click the
Score series button and you will have the competitors scored according to the class
they are sailing. This also now gives you 1 point for the first in the class 2
points for the second in class and so on.

There is a gotcha – if you are scoring multihulls as a
fleet using SCHRS not PY the above does not work unless you have PY rating
values for the classes as well as SCHRS ratings.

Kind regards,

Huw

Awesome Huw, thanks for the very swift response.
That sorts the fleets out in the handicap race very nicely. Now, heres another question, and if its silly please ignore me, but if I want to have just one fleets results extrapolated from the handicap race is there a way of publishing in the same file to our website below the overall table, a table that just shows the positions of all races in the one fleet?
Currently when I publish to the web, it shows on the website as the main overall position table for the series and then individual race positions with timings below so that everyone can see how well they did on handicap. I'd like, ideally, to have the overall table, then a mini table for just fireballs, and then the timings for each race including all competitors still showing timings. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

In answer to your latest question – no L it
is not possible to have the following structure when you publish

Fleet overall series results

Class 1 overall series results

Individual race results for the fleet

Kind regards,

Huw

You can achieve the subclass scoring through the use of aliases.

Huw, I think you can get pretty close to what Chris wants by using aliases.

Chris, I think you can get to what you want by creating an alias for each boat you want scored in a fleet.
