Flighting - revisited

Hi Colin,
I'm again looking at using Sailwave for the major Oppie events. I've input the results (well, some of them!) from last year, and it works fine. However, there are some improvement I can see which would clinch it for me.

Currently, when results are entered the result cell in
the main grid shows the sailor's position in the flight race. Is it possible to sort the grid by start then position? This would make it easier to check results.

We end up with quite a lot of overlap between the leaders of start 2 and the tail end of start 1. When resolving queries, it would be useful to be able to see the sailors' raw, unflighted, finishing rank. Is this possible?

Our sailors are split into Senoir and Junoir, then flighted. When publishing results, I don't seem to be able to get a sensible order for the individual races. What I'd really like is to be able to have individual races printed by start. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

James

Display the flight, then sort on flight then finishing order ???

Can't you score as separate Fleets as well for the
Junior/Senior split? I think doing that you can achieve what you want.

Hi John,
Yes, I'm doing that - it's not so much the fleet split, but the printing of the results for each flight race that I'm not sure is optimal.

Hi Colin,
Will do - thanks.

James

Hi Colin,
While preparing the file to send to you , I have come up against a practical problem with entering the results.

I was happily entering sail numbers using the wizard, and all was going well. However, I then saw that I'd got out of sync with my entry and had ended up entering sail numbers in the position fields (eyes down on list, not checking screen).

What I need to do, to correct the results for the last few sailors, is to be able to see their raw finishing order, not their order once split into flights/starts. Is this possible? I seem to be able to view the results cell as 'Start names' or 'Finishes' etc., but there does not seem to be an option which shows positions within starts, or raw finishing positions.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

James
