I am a new user. I am currently running a PY handicap series in 3
classes. Today both races were cancelled due to heavy winds. How do I
score these? I don't know what half the race codes mean and the "BYE"
is the only zero score available however this still means the race
counts and the discards start kicking in...
The "help" files are quite frankly absolutely useless for a beginner.
They don't have a glossary of terms or anything!
I also need to know how to remove races wrongly added to the series.
Right clicking on a column does not give a delete option and the edit
box that comes up doesn't give me the facility either.
Please help before I go mad and throw the system away and go back to
pen/paper and a calculator.....
The basic problem is that there are no simple instructions on how to
use this program which is a real shame as it seems very good otherwise.
Most clubs just leave them unscored. I suggest this unless your SIs say
anything to the contrary.

You don't say which verion you're running but assuming it's 1.57, to delete
a race, click on any result cell in that race and then use the
Edit+DeleteRace item.

Agreed. Sailwave is a hobby of mine, I work on it when I can. If you want
to know something just ask here; there are hundreds of very experienced
users.

Yeah, no what you mean, but do persevere - Sailwave is brilliant and Colin's doing a fine job and it is free at present...
* The standard codes are defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing
(RRS) Appendix A.11
* If you 'Edit Scoring System' and look at the 'Scoring Codes' tab
you can see what code scores what, but you do need to check your
club's SI's for local peculiarities.
* as Colin has already said, if a race is not sailed it is usually
considered to have never been, (as opposed to 'abandoned') but do
check your SI's again!
* there is quite a lot of useful stuff in the website FAQ, its just
not that organised - you could also try searching the user group
posts for specific topics

-Colin et al
thanks for your replies. Of course immediately after my initial
ranting post I found the help pages on the website! All matters
dealt with now...
Colin-perhaps you would add those pages to the download help topic?
Would be very useful to idiot beginners like myself!
Many thanks for an extremely useful program, keep up the good work.
