I’m looking at using sailwaves for our dinghy club.
I’ve created a four race series with test results. But even though each competitor has the same elapsed time for each race the corrected times differ. For instance in the attached screen shot sailno 123 with class normal has a PY of 1000 so it’s corrected times should equal the elapsed times but for each race there is a different corrected time - 20:00, 17:55, 17:40, 17:25 even though the elapsed time is 20:00 for each race.

I cannot tell what might be wrong from the information you have
given. If you can send me your test Sailwave.BLW file I will take
a look and respond.
Kind regards,
Huw

Not quite morning here [2340BST], so slightly early
I have found one thing:
Under scoring system rating tab you have selected PY but under
the race setting [right-click R1 column heading and select Edit
Race] you have for the start said place finish. You need to set
Elapsed time. This si the same for all 4 races.
However when I correct this and score the series I do not get the
answer I am expecting. I think there might be a bug crept into
Sailwave. I need to check as I am using a newer test version od
Sailwave which is not generally available.
I will be in touch again soon after I have spoken to Jon who now
maintains the software and adds new functionality.
Kind regards,

thanks for such a fast response. I will try the settings that you recommend and also maybe an older version of Sailwave in case it something that just crept in recently.
After having some help from Jon, it would seem that there has
been some experimentation with either BCR option or use of an
external rating calculation spreadsheet file. This was found by
looking at Race ratings view.
The attached Sailwave file has had the race specific ratings
deleted and the series re-scored. It now works as I would expect
with the test data that you entered.
I would still change the race data set-up so that it says either
elapsed time or finish time not place finish.
Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Huw
