Mark,Calum. Fixed in 2.01 build 2 I think. Non
trivial. One gotcha - if a root result is cleared to have no result -
that will not get propagated to the aliased competitors until the
series is scored. This was the only way I could stop root results that
were not available yet blatting the auto DNC results in the scored
aliased competitors. new/edited ‘real’ root results will propagate
immediately.
Currently, alised competiors inherit the root results - would it be
useful if they optionally inherited the root competior fields as well?

That seems appropraite enough. It could *possibly* be possible you might want that. Infact I might want that! One of the scenarios I was working on was 1 boat is not a race. So i could have 5 handicap boats race and get a handicap result. But only 1 mirror race, then it doesn't for me count as a mirror result. If I could delete the mirror result that'd be good (Even better would be rule that knew 1 boat <> race and gave no score its self!!)

Fine.

Do they not? Pehaps I don't create my alises correctly! I have maybe been using create new like this one and then making the alias. Clearly there has to be some difference between alias and the root or there is no point in having alias!
Will confirm working shortly.

Confirming this seems fixed - the only blanks I now see are where none of the fleet raced. eg if no toppers raced (as they didn't last week) then the whole topper fleet stays blank which is good.
Sicne its obviously smart enough to manage that what is the possibility of a future extension to make it smart enough to have a less than X boats is not scored? We use 1 boat is not a race. I know of clubs that use 2 boats is not a race. But have also heard of clubs that 1 boat going out and doing its thing is classed as first place...
Thansk for the fixes Colin.

The only use I have made of aliases is allow me to include a competitor in multiple fleets and to score them in a single pass, fleets within fleets, or scoring a competitor with two different handicapping systems; IRC and PHRF. The only competitor fields I have changed fields in the past have been, fleet and handicap.
Not sure if anyone else is using alias for another purpose.

Colin the attached file is showing some strange behavior. For example the boat TOPAZ UNO RACE 3752. Is not scored DNC in the last six races for no apparent reason.
