`I don't think it is possible to easily do what you want. Off hand, one
might think you could score each day's races and export the final
result. That would give you say 6 individual files (one for each day's
races). Then, you could import each of the six files into a new series
and score that series using the imported points.
I don't know about the export steps but I know the import step won't
work. You can only import (called "merge" in SW) a single file. In any
event, when you go to score the "series" of 6 results I think you will
find that SW rescores the earlier "results," changing the points you
imported. I couldn't find a way around that. My goal was to do just what
you propose but each week would be a single race. I couldn't get it to
work and after many hours trying I ended up simply exporting the final
result of each race and then importing to Excel and scoring the series
in Excel. No one here had any useful suggestions at the time but there
have been some minor changes in SW since then.
Good luck!

the starting line manageable. With OE you end up with everyone racing in 8
heats, with each heat composed of different racers. Each heat has a different
subset of competitors. But everyone races in a total of 8 heats. I hope that
is clear ….

for the days races, they are entered on a sign up sheet. The order that they
sign in determines the makeup of the first two heats. Odds race in the first
heat, evens in the second. That completes two heats, the first set. The order
of the finish of the first set of heats determines who races in the next set.
Odd finishers race against odds and evens against evens.

1st places, two 2nd, …… I add up the points, break the ties and am done.

Allowing each competitor TWO DAYS that they can throw out. So for the 6 week
season racers only count the 4 lowest point days.

multiple days to be combined. I need to scores each day separately so that I

to get the series total.

Thanks for your response, Art.
It interesting how the mind works on a problem while you sleep. Sometimes you wake up with a potential solution or a different way to look at a problem.
This is what I am thinking …
Score the 6 week series as one large race. 8 heats a day time 8 weeks equals 64 heats.
Im not sure if the following is possible, but I hope the group will help.
To score one day’s heats (8 races), I will enter those races in the master file for the season, save that file. Then save that file AS another name (for the weeks results), and delete all previous weeks races, apply the weekly SI, and rescore just the races for that week.
Questions:
How do I apply a different set of SI easily?
How do I make SI so that points for ties do not get split. I need to enter two firsts, two second, etc and have the points not be shared. 1,1,2,2 ,…
How do I easily delete many races?
When I enter everyone that will be racing for the season. Will the people that did not race (I dont enter a score for them) get an DNS automatically so that I dont have to enter results for all 60 people each week?
I will have to give up the idea of giving throw outs for an entire day and just give a days (8 races) number of throw outs for the highest races.
Thanks for the help!
