Groups and flights - Seeding

Hi!

I'm running a race, where I have Qualification races (2 groups) and final races (Gold + silver groups). There is also 2 starts (one for each group).

I'm using App. LE, and sets scoring system to NONE race tie resolution, but are naturally using Series Tie resolution. Hooked off for App. A 8.1 and A 8.2, and also the option "Boats must be in the same start to tie in a race when applying 8.2".

I'm using the SEED tool to put boats into groups (red/yellow) in the 1 race..

So, to my question:
When rearranging into new groups, the seed tool lets me seed competitor fields. I tought I should, after the initial race(s), seed the actual race... It looks to me that all initial groups disappears, and especially I'm not sure if Series Tie Resolution will work correctly.

What happens, is that when I score again, "Boats must be in the same start to tie in a race when applying 8.2" will be applied.... But HOW? The initial groups, wich I based the starts on, do not apply anymore. And, if I next day, rearrange the groups the "old starts" contins the same groups/flights but there ar now new boats in them...

Regards,
(Confused) Martin

Hi Martin,

When scoring flights the most important option in the scoring system is the
one on the race tab that says "allow multiple firsts, seconds etc". Once
you've done that you're OK. When evaluating which boats are in starts
Sailwave will use the default flight in the competitor record if there isn't
a race flight defined, otherwise it uses the race flight. That's it. You
can see what flights boats are in from the drop down list in the tool
bar - - select race flights...

Seires scoring seems to work OK, I'm not sure what you mean about that...

HI, Colin!

When I score , having boats in groups say, red + blue, everything is OK. When I rearrange, say to Gold and Silver, and then score: I will get a warning saying Competitor xxx are not in a flight in race1....

Competitors are in the "old flight" wich does not exist anymore....

OK ?

Martin
