Handicapping systems

Hi. I am new to sailwave.
Is it possible to have multiple handicap systems at the same time for the same set of results.
For context, we have a mixed fleet and a Hartley TS16 fleet and then combine them in our yardstick competition. Each fleet has it’s own handicap (based on minutes, but I am open to change that)
Currently I am just using excel and all results and rankings are combined on a new sheet for each race.
Thanks

Hi Andrew,

Yes, Sailwave has an Alias feature that should help you. The feature can be enabled through the user interface setting. Based on your description, I would create a single fleet (start) for all the boats and then create aliases for the mixed fleet and the TS16 fleet.

If the above suggestion doesn’t work, maybe share some of your data.

Hi Andrew and Peter

It’s not quite clear from Andrew’s question- Peter is correct that you should use Aliases if you want to get two sets of results from the same races.

But it’s not clear if the Mixed fleet and the Hartley T16 Fleet are both using the same handicap system.
If they are using different ones, then you can handle this by using the fleets tab in the Edit scoring system, as shown below

Here you can apply different parameters to different fleets - the rating system being one of them
This is done by unticking the inherit for the parameters you wish to change

Hope this helps - Please let us know if you need help
