We are a model sailboat club and regularly use Sailwave to compute and post our results. It’s very easy to do with fleets up to 15 but after that we need to split our fleet into 2 or more heats per race.
I have been trying to figure out how to compute this in Sailwave but the only thing I see comes close is the “Spilt starts” feature, but when I turn it on nothing seems to change. I want to score 18 boats split into 2 heats for Race 1, each boat that comes first gets a 1 and so on. There would therefore be two 1’s, two 2’s etc. for Race 1 only.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Sounds like you have already enabled split starts .
If you have created 2 starts and allocated the boats to the 2 starts and in the edit scoring system selected Race Scoring - Split starts - Allow multiple 1st 2nds etc. Should give you what your looking for. I’m sure they will be better advise, but this should help.

Hi Steve,
Please find attached a document that I created for reference when running Laser Flights and Fleets. The document describes the qualifying and final series. You just need the qualifying section of the document.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Keith
I believe what he is seeking is the radio yachting Heat Management Scoring (HMS) scoring system applied to Sailwave.
Ie 20 boats split into 2 fleets of say 10 each
‘A’ fleet places/points are equivalent to positions 1-10 in the race and ‘B’ fleet positions 11-20.
This is just a sort of high level description of the scoring system as it is a little more complex with competitor promotion/relegation and various scoring anomalies although in principal creates a race from a number of heats.
Cheers

Hi All
Here is the info and excel file related with Heat Management System.
http://www.leevalleymyc.org.uk/HMS%202014.htm
If sailwave will have capabilities to organize this scoring system, it will be great. We are using that excel file during IOM competitions in Turkey.
