Help Publishing Resutls on personal website

Hi, I have been using sailwave for a while now and found it simply
brilliant. I use to use it for the calculations and then put them in
an excel spreadsheet to upload on our website.

Now I have the lastest version 1.94 build 27 and I'm trying to
publish the results on our website.

When I pubhish to browser I like the way the page come up. So I'd
like to have it that way when people click on results as a link. is
it possible??? I've tried to save it but can't find how to save it as
html so it opens up as a page when clicking on the link. I've also
tried to export it to my website (putting in all the server, login
and pswd) and it said it was uploaded but I can't seem to see that
file...

So I'm stuck... PS I'm not a web developper - rather a sailor who's
trying to manage a fleet - a sailing RC IOM fleet to be exact.

Details of my website can be found at www.iomireland.org

Any help please... I feel I'm so close to getting this to work yet
I'm so far...

Thx a mil
Gilbert

In 1.93B3 it's 'Publish', 'Results', 'To a web page on your computer'
which generates an HTML file. (Not tried 1.94 yet...)

On the front page of your website, there is a link to a results page (page91)

Opening this link shows a page with links on the left but with nothing on the right. One would expect the results to show there (embedded), or to have a link to the results html file.

Either way, there should be html code in that page (page91) to make this happen. I’m not sure how your website is setup or generated, but there seems to be something missing on these lines. Or is it perhaps that the results file is in a different place and the setup also can’t find it?

Yes this is where I'd like them to appear. I used to do them in excel
after they were calculated with sailwave. I imported it as an image
but as you can see from previous results - it's ok but not great.
When I'm in sailwave and look to publish the result and select
browser in the drop down box It comes up as a new page in internet
explorer all formated and all. This is what I'd like it to show as

Or

The other option is once I have it saved as a html file I can add it
as a link to somewhere in my result page so people click on the word
result and this page comes up in another window. Unfortunately I
can't seem to save the results as an html page :((

Anyone ??? surely someone is using sailwave to publish there results

To save as an html file, just simply publish to file and name the file with an html extension. When placing on a web site, just direct a hyperlink to that page and it should be seen exactly as viewed on the browser. Make sure the extension is html and not htm. Good luck!

Oh great - I found a solution but it is really a round about way. ie
saving the file on my web server as html and then downloading it to
my PC via an ftp program, and then I did what you said below... but
your solution will cut me time -Excellent thx a mil  I'll try that
ou.

To save as an html file, just simply publish to file and name the

file with an html extension. When placing on a web site, just direct
a hyperlink to that page and it should be seen exactly as viewed on
the browser. Make sure the extension is html and not htm. Good luck!

I think that what you need to do is FTP straight to your server and
then have your links pointing at the uploaded files.

If you go to Setup and then Global options and click on the FTP tab
you can enter your FTP User name and password and the path to where
you want the files to be stored (in the Server field).

Then, when you publish the results, select website instead of
Browser, specify the filename you want to use and it will be
uploaded. You should find this much easier than the method you use at
the moment.

Hope this helps

Alan
