Help with using Alias

Hi,

Our club has races every Sunday during the sailing season which are scored using a manual progressive handicap. We also designate about one third of the races as Club Championship and these are scored separately on scratch. The days of the Club Championship are also scored for handicap as well. There are two fleets in the file.

I'd like to enter the results into one sailwave file and produce the full season in handicap and also selected races as scratch. They use different discard profiles. Is this possible and how do you do it?

If it requires Aliases I can not find how to do that,so I'd need help on how to set up an Alias for a Competitor.

I'm using Sailwave 2.4.5.

warm regards

Rob

I've finally found the answer to how to create an alias - you need to ENABLE the feature! So simple when you know how.

Go to Setup\User Interface and select Competitor Aliasing.

I can see how this will help if every race is counted in both Scratch and Handicap, but our scratch results are a subset of the races. How do you actually implement this Division idea that Neil mentioned? I can only see a Division PER COMPETITOR, not PER RACE. Every competitor is in both scratch and handicap. I need to exclude particular races from the calculations. How to do it?
