Very new to this software so apologies for my ignorance as I practice and play.
I have trialled a couple of races using 30 boats as a fleet from a master file, thrown in some excludes and entered nominal results from races but the column RANK keeps coming up with 'First' for all boats.
Am I doing something silly and obvious - I was hoping that the columns would simply rank the yachts First to Last in order...???
Also can anyone explain what the tally column does / is for...?
Finally, is there a simple way of typing position results into each column on the table rather than entering them through the pop up result menu/
Thanks for your support chaps...
Welcome to Sailwave,
Yes it will rank the yachts in First to Last order. I assume you have pressed the Score Series and decided how you are scoring.
You can have a look at Sailwave_ABYC_User_Guide.pdf
You can also have a look at the help and reference guides on the Sailwave web site
You might find it useful to watch this video which was produced as a quick training video for the Team15 windsurfing users
Team15 Sailwave Video
If that fails to solve your issue then please come back and possibly post your Sailwave file so we can see what you have done.

Anthony,
Are you doing straight 1,2, 3, scoring? Then just clicking `Score' should do a sort. If you are doing handicap times, some other parameters have to be set.
In some offshore or large water regattas, boats are issued a numbered disc or similar, known as a tally, which they have to take on the water. They then return this after the races. The regatta admin can use this to see if anyone has not yet returned to shore - safety check. Thus in Sailwave, this column just records the issued tally numbers. This column can be hidden if not used.
If you choose not to use the Sail Number Wizard (which is best for large fleets), results can be entered by means of right click, then Set result or Edit result.
