High point scoring - how to set it up

Hi to Everyone !
I gently ask to explain the steps I have to go through Sailwave scoring system, to use the High Point Scoring US Sailing system available at

I thank you for the assistance on this subject.
Renato

Hi RK,

The US Sailing ’ SCORING - THE HIGH POINT PERCENTAGE SYSTEM’ and ’ SCORING - LOW POINT AVERAGED SYSTEM’ are not an available high point scoring systems in Sailwave. The former has been raised before but so far has not been added.

Other high point scoring systems are available in Sailwave. To make them available they need to be ‘switched’ on by opening Setup | User Interface and checking the high point scoring option.

Kind regards,
Huw

Hi R.K.

As Huw correctly says, you need to enable the High Point scoring in the User Interface. Sailwave can handle the scoring of the individual races but not the series points Calculation for their High point which is unique. I must confess to have forgotten about this. I will put it on my list of things to do.

I will see what I can do

Thanks for reaching out

Thanks Jon and Huw for your replies.
But is possible to configure it manually.

I’ve gone through high point systems whithin SAILWAVE and they seemed to yield very high numbers, some more some less.

What system would you recommend for the use I intend to?

Attached 3 SW files, each deployihg the high score system available in SW:

  • AUSTRIAN
  • SORC
  • RORC

Hi Everyone.

I gently ask for guidance to establish a custom scoring (based on USSailing high score) for a single series with 10 boats signed up , 7 finished.

1st place = 7 points
……………
7th place = 1 point

DNF = 0.75
DNS = 0.50
RET = 0.25

PMS/DSQ/PMS = no points

Here is a what I believe that you are looking for:

  1. enable the high point scoring in the interface:

  1. Select high point scoring and the number of decimal places

  1. set the points for DNS, RET and DNF:

  1. Here is a sample of the results:

BTW PMS was replaced about 20+ years by OCS

  • Hi Peter.
    Thank you very much. Great and useful help.

    Please confirm that “f” and “p” stand for:
    p (Place): The finishing place of the boat (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd).

  • f (Finishers): The total number of boats that finished the race.

  • p (Place): The finishing place of the boat (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd).

Neat and simple!
