high point scoring

I can't seem to figure this out. We are doing high point scroing for
out fleet championship this year. If there are ten boats racing then
the top boat gets 10 points and on down. The problem is the next race
there can be 7 boats racing and then it would be 7 points on down. It
may be a different amount of boats every race. Is this possible to do
and if so how?

Thanks.

If 10 boats are registered for the event, then you would not reduce the size
of fleet just because the other three boats do not show-up for the next
race. The 3 boats are DNC. You can establish new events for each race and
delete the 3 boats that do no show for that event, but you are not scoring
all races as one event.

Surely the whole point of high point scoring systems is to give a higher value to races in which there are more competitors. The simplest system is therefore to give one point for every boat you beat, including those who intended to race but didn’t…

The above help page is for high point expressions. Depending on your
definition of "boats racing" your expression would be something like:-

  r - p + 1
