High Points Scoring

Hi all,

I’m trying to set up a high points scoring series to get a “Club Champion” from the various Club Trophies during the year based on “competitors beaten”. I’ve got sailwave to calculate the correct points (No of race finishers + 1 - Race position) but I can’t get it to rank based on highest points? On the “Race Scoring” tab of the “Edit Scoring System” menu there are only low points options. I am using 2.02 build 6.

Anybody successfully done this or got any helpful advice??

Thanks

Chris,

Click 'User interface' button on tool bar then check the option

‘High point scoring’. Once this done a highpoint option will appear
in scoring systems

Thanks Huw - easy as that!!

Any idea if it is possible to show position and points for each race when you publish the series summary table?

Chris,

Don't quite understand question. However you can print both overall

results and individual race results at the same time. You use the
check boxes for both print overall and individual race at the same
time. When you check the individual race check box other options are
made avaialbel that allow you to specify which individual races you
want published using the radio buttons and field for individual
races whcih can be specified as comma (,) separated list of races or
individual race or range of races (1-6).

Hope this helps.

Yes understand all that thanks Huw - I wanted to just print the series summary but I’m not sure the club members will understand the high point scoring without seeing the individual race positions as well. Obviously this is not a problem with low points as 1st = 1 etc. With high points eg in some races 1st = 20 and others 1st = 15 - maybe confusing for many without the detail. Thought there might be a way of doing it without having to print the individual race results as well. Just wanted to save space and paper!!

Bit blowey here - how is it at Weymouth?

Thanks

Chris,

Sorry if I was teaching you to suck eggs!

Weymouth weather been breezy! Gusting 30knots at times, rumoured 4

Star masts broken and one RIB had its tube punctured by a Finn.

FYI - experimenting importing finish positions extracted form the

tracking system directly into Sailwave.

You could always modify your webpage template so it has a few words of explanation at the bottom of every page. Say something like "Points for each race reflect the number of boats beat plus one."

Art & Chris,

There is no need to modify a template, there is a simpler way :-)

On the publish window that pops up there are 3 tabs, the default is

the tab where one chooses what one want to publish; the third is
labelled Notes and here one can enter some additional words that
will appear on the published page, the visibility of these notes are
controlled by the check box on the right hands sid eo b tab 1
(default) in the publish window as is an explanation of the scoring
codes that have been used inthe series.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Huw @SS4G Regatta

PS - just off to double/triple check the Gold / Silver splits for

F-series before 09:00 BST deadline of posting on ONB
