I am currently running Sailwave version 2.19.8. I am trying to implement the effect ‘HighlightWins’ with no success so far.
I am selecting Publish results. I click through the panel to select publish a series summary only selecting all races. I advance to the destination options panel and under effects I checked the effect box, and click on the effects box. Under available effects I click on ‘Highlight Wins’ and >> to the Effects to use, at this point the lower window is populated with code, I now click on ok. When I check on Publish summary output is generated but with no highlighting of the 1st place positions
Is there additional steps I need to take ie creating an effects folder, to obtain highlighting?
Sorry to hear that you are having a problem. I can think of two
things that might be stopping you seeing the race winners
highlighted.
The browser you are using is not allowing JavaScript to run
The set-up of 'points' presentation has been changed from 1.0
to 1.00, i.e . the number of decimal places has changed
from the default of 1
If you care to send me your Sailwave.BLW file I will be happy to
take a look.

I suggest you may like to look at the page http://www.sailwave.com/effects-library. You don’t say what scoring system you are using. Is it a low point or high point scoring? The version 2.19.8 will work with low point scoring as the Java script will recognise 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 and colour code them correctly.
Version 2.22 uses a different technique to perform the highlighting and highlights on rank so will work with both low and high point scoring and will also work if there are multiple competitors in 1st 2nd or 3rd. There is a post on this topic here in the user group.

Thanks for replying to my request for help with the effect HighlightWins. We use low point scoring. In testing I have been using publish, results,
the output goes to MS Word. I then save the output as an htm file. I have looked at the htm file with wordpad, and searched on ‘colin’ and found the java script in the body. I verified javascripts are enabled in Chrome and opened the file in Chrome and received no highlighting.
Yesterday, after testing with publish, results I also published using results for a blog, which we use to generate a post in Word Press to facilitate outputting our results on our Word Press site. I noticed the option for selecting effects is grayed out. So using highlighting may be a moot point with the procedure we are using to publish results to the Word Press web page. I would be glad to send along my BLW file, I just need an email address to send it to. It would be a nice to have feature but certainly not a problem to publish without it.
Try publishing your results directly in html - publish to a file on
your PC ( as *.htm), then open that file with Chrome.

Thank you for the update on how you do things. I suspect, as I
have not tried yet, that publishing to MS Word corrupts the code
even though you can still see it is there. Could you try
publishing straight to your default web browser and see if you
have the same problem?
Microsoft adds all sorts of extra stuff when it saves to an HTM
file.
I would like to understand why you publish to MS Word and then
save as an HTM, please could you explain?
With regard to Wordpress there may be a plug-in that will allow
you to incorporate Sailwave HTM files without loosing effects
functionality. I have done a very quick Google search and came up
with this link
In summary I do not think there is a problem with your
Sailwave.BLW file. If you would like to send your file anyway my
email is .

A while ago on this forum someone posted that they were
developing a Joomla module to incorporate Sailwave HTM files into
their website. In response a member posted that they were
surprised that no one was/had done same for Wordpress as they felt
Wordpress sites out number Joomla by a considerable margin. Any
way you might be interested in that message which is belwo:
Interesting that it seems no one seems to have
done something similar for WordPress, not wanting
to get into a WordPress versus Joomla debate - but
statistically the number of WordPress websites
dwarf Joomla.*
I put something simple process together of
ours (WordPress site), basically it allows any
file name to be uploaded (ftp) from sailwave, then
it strips the dom and adds it into a custom
WordPress page template. ( I avoided using a
custom SailWave template, as this means that the
template would have to be loaded on to all PC’s
uploading as it is local to the PC )*
I then wrote some code to read the upload
files directory to create the nav links
automatically.*
Doesn't go any further than that, but it is
effective. If anyone wants that bundled into a
WordPress plugin I can take a look.*

I did try to publish to chrome but still no highlighted wins. Before we had Word Press i used to use Word to edit html files. Now that we are using Word Press I can edit the file in Word Press. I will take a look at the joomia post. I think I am going to put highlighting aside for now and revisit it later 2.22. Thank you for your responses.
Hi George - It is a pity to give up on the “highlighted wins” as it does create a nice effect. It shouldn’t be difficult to do either. I’m interested why you are having a problem. If you could publish to a file and email me the file (jon at sailwave.com) I will check the file to see why it is not displaying the highlighting.
