I have tried unsuccessfully to install following the PlayOnMac route and wondered if there is a better option that has worked for others.
Hello Bob,
Welcome to the Sailwave User Group forum.
There might be some useful information to help you in this thred - Successful install of Sailwave on a Silicon MacBook M1 and a Silicon Macbook M4 with WINE - #11 by dbpeer - here on this forum.
Kind regards,
Huw
Hello Huw,
Thank you. I’ll take a look tomorrow.

Hi Bob,
The Best way is to use Parallels it works perfectly - I have an M1 MacBook Pro and its seamless running on it.
I did try Crossover probably about a year ago, and it did work for one design, but it crashed when using handicaps - don’t know if this is still the case - need to find some time to try the latest version.
There are a few other methods that people have reported as working, but Parallels is straightforward

Hi Jon,
Thank you. I’ll take look tomorrow.

Hi Jon,
Which version of Parallels should I use, Standard or Pro?
Regards,
Bob
Hi Bob,
The choice is yours - there is a comparison chart on the Parallels website
for running Sailwave and most applications the Standard is fine. Really depends on any other uses you have for it.
There are some cheap deals if you do a Google but have no experience of these.

Jon
Thanks Jon. I guess I have to acquire and install MS Windows 11 as well before installing Sailwave. May be a weekend job.

I’ve downloaded Parallels and Windows and it wants me to Activate Windows. I don’t have an existing license so I need to purchase one. The instructions say to go to Windows Settings, but thus far I cannot locate them. Any suggestions?
Regards,
Bob
Hi Jon,
Found the settings, purchased a license for £12 and activated it. Now to find out how to download Sailwave into the Windows environment. Getting exciting.

Bob
Hi Jon,
Sailwave now installed and running. Time to read the User Manual. We have a training session next week.
Many thanks for your assistance. It’s much appreciated.

Bob
