We have been using Sailwave very successfully to score separate
series which we then merge into one file to determine an overall
championship. The more we use Sailwave, the more we like it! In
doing the merge a few questions have come up:
1. Is there a way to display both the code and the points scored
when a code is used? For example, when a boat is scored DNF, we
would like to display DNF(10) or at least be able to diplay 10
instead of DNF. Is there a way to do that?
2. Is there a way to lock the score for OOD before we do the merge?
We calculate OOD as the average FOR THE SERIES after all throwouts.
Sailwave calculates it perfectly in the series, but then recalulates
it after the merge and scores OOD as the average in ALL series after
all throwouts. WE would like to be able to lock the value for OOD
before the merge so it is never calculated again after the merge.
(We don't do the merge until all series results are final.)
3. Is there a way to merge course lenghts? Typically each race is
a different length, and we manually enter the course length using
EDIT+FLEETS. This is fine, but when we do the merge, the resulting
file has course lengths for only the first series, and we then
manually reenter them for all the later series. IS there a way to
make Sailwave take the course lengths automatically?

To show points for a code go to edit scoring system and select the scoring
codes tab. Select the code you wish to change (you will have the option to
have the change effect all codes), and hit "edit". The third tab is for
setting format, you will be able to create virtually any combination you
wish. There is also a check box that will allow you to make your change
effective for all codes.

Each code can be displayed using any combination of the code string and the
points + extra text. See Edit+Code on the scoring codes tab of the scoring
system. There is also a checkbox to make them all the same.

No, but it's something that's needs sorting out. It's on the todo ilst. I
can see a way to do it as a merge option - the mnerge would change the code
method to to 'score points by hand' method - so that they didn't change on
subsequent rescoring.

No, it's a bug that has been reported but not fixed yet. I've bumped it up
a bit. it should import the race names etc etc as well.
