I would like to start a new season and retain the previous seasons individual “new rating” figures. The existing sailwave file does not use an external excel database for calculating, and I believe I would have to set up (copy) the file to a new file with excel.
The other option would be to create a new file with an external database - excel and then import the previous seasons results. When clearing the data would the “new Rating” be retained.

All you need to do is copy the file and rename it
Then open the file in Sailwave and delete all the Sailed races which means you will be left with at least one race. The race after the last sailed race contains the ratings it was going to use for the next race this will now be the ratings for the new series as this will now be R1 of the new series.
It’s as simple as that
