Html

Hi there Colin

Just a quick ? when I publish a race result it to an html file on my computer it obliterates anything on the page that I have created.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

I’m fixing a bug now whereby Sailwave clears all elapsed times to null - I’ve inhibited web site downloads while I do it - major balls-up. Would that explain it? or do you mean there is lots of white space in the HTML itself. If the latter then if you are using Netscape use the Netscape style. CJ.

I’ve realised what you mean - you’ll have to tick “Publish Series Summary” on the publish wizard once per series - it gets reset with this release - it’s a better implementation now and hopefully this is a small price to pay. This flag used to be global across all series - it’s local to the series. CJ

Hi Colin

Have tried to Publish a race again have ticked Publish series summary and picked a destination Html file on the computer that I have created for that race which already has instructions etc on the page, but as soon as I click publish it uploads to the Html file and destroys anything on the page.

Is there anyway that the results can be contained in something like a text box to save anything already on the page,

Thanks

Chris

at the first make sure you check the box “publish series summary” , checkrace dates and times if you want

select all fleets or a particular one and most important select on the last column “all sailed races” or a particular one

if you don’t it will not have anything to publish

Good luck!

Ah I see. I’m afraid to say you are attempting something that Sailwave does not do. When it writes a file it creates it whole; as you say, zapping anything else that might be in it. The notes field in the publish wizard(s) was intended for annotation. Depending on what your HTML contained you could look at the Sailwave templates in sailwave\templates and create your own in sailwave\templates\my templates. Any HTML files in here get added to the publish list - if you look in the examples provided you’ll see that the result are included with a special syntax so you can create a page outline with burgee and banners and footers etc etc and then publish it with the results appearing as required. If you publish to the template itself you’ll overwrite the template, you need to publish to another file, retaining the template. CJ.
