Import competitors and automatically allocate ratings

Hi all you learned sailors

I’m new to this group but have used Sailwave for a few years.

I have a csv file with Class, Sailno, Helmname that I want to import. I would like it to automatically allocate PY ratings to the classes.

I have the ratings file set up and if I capture a new competitor without any competitors in the series, Sailwave pulls up the classes in the PY file and automatically allocates the correct rating for his class, so I’m happy it is set up correctly and reading the ratings file.

On the Rating system tab I have checked ‘RYA Portsmouth’ and ‘Auto set competitor ratings’

When I import, ratings are not allocated and if I try and add competitors it only shows the classes imported and does not show those on the ratings file or pull through ratings. I can type in a new class that is on the ratings file and it pulls through the rating, but not for any of the classes I imported.

Is it possible to automatically allocate rating for each class as I import the file?

Hi Welcome to the group.

I hope I understood your question correctly.

You can’t currently import the rating from the csv but as you have set the Auto set competitor ratings flag this will set the rating from the Ratings file when you score the series.

So I would expect it to work as long as you score the series.

Thank you! Indeed once I Scored the series it pulled the ratings through correctly.
