Import Competitors

One painful repetitive activity is setting up new competitors and I'd like to use our master list of boats/owners/sail numbers which is in Excel so easy to export as csv. Thus when a boat that had not previously raced this year turns up in the results sheets his sail number would be recognised in the Sail Number Wizard. However, if I just import the list of about 700 boats won't that play havoc with the scoring codes for DNC, DNS etc? What I'm getting at is one master file that Sailwave can draw on when required. Any ideas?

An intermediate solution would be to allow a "new" boat found while using the Sail Number Wizard to be edited at that time whereas at the moment one has to enter the sail number plus say 9999 so it shows up, then continue adding more results, score series, then go back and edit the record for the unranked boat and correct its sail number and finally rescore.

No
it won’t mess up DNC, DNS, etc. After you import all your
competitors, go to Edit + Mark all unsailed competitors as excluded and then
edit + mark all sailed competitors as included and you will be all set.
Sailors racing for the first time will be changed automatically to included when
you enter them using sail number wizard.
