Import Data

I am trying to import race results from an excel spreadsheet, saved as a
.csv file
The positions have been entered in the spreadsheet under a 'pos' column &
other codes under a seperate 'code' column
The positions import OK but the codes (DNF, DSQ etc) come over with a small
square after the code which causes a problem with Sailwave not recognising
the code.

Ralph:
I have had a similar problem, if you look at your .csv file in
notepad, I think you will see that there is no comma at the end of
the line. Try adding an extra column in your spreadsheet labelled
Ignore. You will now be able to import the file and Sailwave will
ignore the last column labelled Ignore.

Hi John/Ralph

The 1.58 beta has this fixed.

"Fix leaving binary chars in fields when importing from CSV files."

Thanks guys
The wierd thing about this problem is that when I reloaded Sailwave & the
file later in the day, the 'square' character had disappeared!!!
This also happened once when loading up rating files - the update did not
appear until I shut down & re-loaded Sailwave.

Is this ME or just one of those things??

Regards
Ralph
