Hi Anders

Hi Tony,

It´s not a big deal for me but we had this in an earlier version and
MrC fixed it. Competitorimport is OK but not results

Her are some files: But “I see the light” that fixes it… . the guess button.

But it does not remember the field for the next race.

Yes, you always need to hit Guess to get all the fields lined up.

its very close to being sorted out so its slicker

  • i.e. not need for guess button and remembers.

it should remember now - it must be broken - or perhaps it only
remembers non-standard mappings.

Hi Colin

While you're on the import any chance of getting another couple of issues sorted?

         1) If the competitor is new, the PY is not set, even if the class in the csv file is contained within the ratings file.

         2) If the competitor is in Sailwave, but has not sailed before you need to include him manually for their result to count.

many thanks

hmmm, given that sailwave only saves one rating at a time i’m not sure
it’s a bug - you can get around it by ticking the box on the rating tab
that says words tot he effct of ‘always update raings before scoring’

Hi Colin

Sorry maybe I was a bit brief in my explanations.

         1) I've looked but can't find the rating tab with the Update ratings setting. :frowning: My issue is that I have a new competitor in my CSV file, and I've checked the box on the import that says "Create Competitors during import if they are not already in the series" The competitors are created, but they are not given a rating, even though their boat class is in the ratings file. Double click the competitor, click on the little blue wave next to boat class, and the correct class is already selected. Would be super nice if the rating was added automatically to the competitor on import.

         2) There's something slightly weird here. I have a series with all members in, many of whom have not sailed this series. When a result for an unsailed member is imported they go into some kind of weird state where the result is there, but rescoring does not give them a rank. Selecting "Include all sailed members" puts them in a normal state where their times count.

many thanks
Tony

Some thoughts.

  1. Include two new columns, competitor which would need to be unique or blank, and Alias of which would have to be equal to a previous competitor number or blank.

Competitor Alias Of

1

2 1

3

4 3

You would have to import a competitor before importing any of its aliases.
