I'm having a problem getting 1.93 to show the results in a numerical
order. Also, when publishing the place number doesn't show.
You can click on the Rank coloumn, and it will be sorted in ascending or descending order. This sorting will be the same when publishing.

Subject: [sailwave] Incorrect order in results

order. Also, when publishing the place number doesn’t show.
To add to Martin’s reply
Do you mean individual race results or the series results??
If you mean series:
The results should automatically be in numerical (ranking) order after scoring
If you have done some other sorting then Martin’s advice is the answer.
If the series place is not being published - have you inadvertently changed the column setting so that it does not publish??
As a general principle, SW publishes information as it is displayed on the screen.
If you change the view option in the drop down menu and/or sort on a particular column, publishing your results will then display your ‘results’ with this information.
I find this feature very useful for printing individual race results for General Handicap races.
By changing the view to finishes & then sorting by that race, I get a list of finishers in the order that they actually crossed the finish line.
VERY helpful for competitors to check their finishing data
The principle also has lots of other possibilities when printing competitor lists by sail number, fleet etc etc
Hope this helps

I did manage to get the results into order after resting my tired
mind... Didn't notice the Rank column.
Now the problem is that two divisions had no finishers before the
time limit so the race should be considered abandoned but SW gives
them all points as DNF's (number of entries plus 1). Is there a way
to abandon a race for 2 divisions but not all?

Set up a scoring code of ABN & allocate zero points??
Not sure what effect this will have on discards however.
Bit late at night to work it out.
Currently being bored to tears watching World Snooker Final.
But cannot persuade myself to go to bed in case it gets exciting (sad person!!)

HI!
I did that just right now.
I just cleared the results for those boats Edit - Clear results, and scored again. It Worked!
Before that I tried this way: Enter a new code of zero, increase number of discards, and select “Discard me first” on the last (empty) race. It worked too, but it was far much easier to clera results…
The reason why this showed up, was the following:
Had 93 Optimists doing round robin flight racing, and 36 Optimists on the same course doing Fleet racing. This works like 2 Classes, one for flights and one for fleet…
Anyway, the scorer wanted to put both classes into the same file, to easily separate boats through SW. For the flights there was 6 races, but for the fleet class there was only 5 races.
It worked fine!

Hi,
When scoring by field (fleet etc) if all competiors do not have a result for
a particular race, Sialwave will assume it's not been sailed at all. If
you've entered DNCs then the race has been sailed but all competitor were
DNC.

Colin
