After downloading the install file from the Sailwave web site, when I run it I get the following error message:
“the file ‘c:\program files (x86)\sailwave\UNWISE.EXE’ could not be opened. Please check your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory.”
I checked and found the uninstall file UNWISE.EXE does exist in the directory. When I click on it however, a Windows dialogue box appears, asking if I want this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to my device. UNWISE starts only after I click “yes”. I suspect this feature is preventing the auto install sequence.
I recall seeing threads that there could be such issues if
Teamviewer is installed on the PC?

Sorry to hear you have a problem. There is not normally any problem installing Sailwave on Windows 10, other than the prompts that sometimes require accept/allow/continue the installation.
Unwise.exe is the program that is used to uninstall Sailwave. So if it is present on your PC you must have at sometime installed Sailwave on the PC.
If it is a club PC does your login account have the necessary rights to allow the installation.
As Malcom suggested Teamviewer can cause Sailwave to crash when you run Sailwave, but this is not the problem you are seeing. Just FYI A program Teamviewerfix is included with the Sailwave install and runs when you install Sailwave. So the Teamviewer issue should only occur if you install Teamviewer after Sailwave. If this is the case simply run the Teamveiwerfix program which is in the Sailwave directory.
If you still have a problem please feel free to contact me directly.

Hi Nick and everyone - I just downloaded the latest installer from the Sailwave website and installed it on Windows 10 version 1709 (Fully patched as of this morning) and installed Sailwave with no issues - It did previously have 2.23 on it.
I also tried reinstalling again and still no issues.
If anyone can give me screen shots or reproduce it then I will look at it. But at the moment it seems to work perfectly for me.

Hi Ian - Thanks - could you repeat and move the message box so I can see what was underneath - If you have a couple of minutes to spare could you give me a call or email me direct with your phone and I will call you.
Or Skype or WhatsApp if you prefer. Thanks Jon

Hi - Thank you to Ian who just called me - He is getting the same issue on both of his PC’s
As this issue has only just arisen this is strange as the installer hasn’t changed for a few years. The problem seems to be with permissions to write to the program files directory.
Ian has discovered that if he downloaded the install file and then right clicks on the file and selects Run as Administrator the install works fine - so that is a work around for those with an issue.
There have been a lot of patches to operating systems lately for the Meltdown vulnerability and many of these have interfered with Antivirus software so I’m wondering if it is connected.
I’m using Microsoft’s Windows Defender - Ian is using Norton. So if you have a problem installing could you let me know what antivirus Together with what updates to the OS and your antivirus you have installed.
Using the latest Windows 10 pro fully patched and Windows Defender it works fine with me.
Jon By the way I followed your advice above of downloading the Sailwave installer, right clicking and choosing "run as an administrator"in Windows. Worked like a charm and now happily running v2.24
