Linux Users of Sailwave

This will probably not apply to many users of Sailwave but for me
it was something I wanted, although I do use Sailwave mainly on a
Windows 10 system.

        Sailwave

users on Linux under WINE, I think I have worked out with
Jon’s help how to get the the ISAF plug-in to work. Just
want to do a bit more testing and document what needs doing
before releasing what needs doing.

It is working for me on my openSUSE Tumbleweed system

running WINE 3.2 and my Linux Mint 18.3 system running WINE
1.6.2.

    Mac users

running Sailwave using WineBottler may find ISAF plugin works
when I release the Linux steps. But I do not have access to a
Mac System to test.

A big thank you to Jon for spending several hours working on

this with me.

    Kind regards,

    Huw

Hi John,

Thank you for the offer and will bear you in mind. Question - do

you have need to upload results of International regattas to World
Sailing? If not the ISAF plug-in is not something you need to
worry about.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Huw,

No i would not use the ISAF plugin. But if you are stuck i am willing to assist as i have the MAC and Wine environment.

Hi Sailwave users on Linux,

More testing has been done and documentation written. Look

forward to feedback on how you find the documentation and will
welcome suggestions for improvement.

If you run Sailwave on a Mac these instructions may work. Look

forward t hearing from anyone who does try them.

As stated in the attached document the instructions worked for me

on the following systems:

  • openSUSE Tumbleweed [fully updated] running Wine 3.2/3.3
  • Linux Mint 18.3 [fully updated] running WINE 1.6.2
  • Ubuntu 16.04 LTS [fully updated] running WINE 1.6.2
    Kind regards,

Huw
