Locked Explorer Buttons

Apologies if the solution to this is elsewhere.

All explorer buttons, file, edit, view etc as well as the maximise,
minimise and close will not function. Programme toolbar buttons, Open,
Save, Close Series etc are working fine but the only way to shutdown
is through task manager and none of the File, Edit etc options are
available.

Using XP2 professional and no other software is showing this fault.

Have tried un-install and re-install but no luck.

Can anyone help?

Yes, I have this problem on my XP machine as well. It hasn't yet
surfaced on my Vista machine so I don't know if it caused by a
particular action or other reasion.

I am having a similar issue with 2.0 on my Vista machine. The upper
row of controls (File, View, Edit, .....) do not highlight when the
mouse cursor is moved over and the drop down menus do not appear. All
the other buttons function as expected.

If you select one of the top row buttons using the Alt-F (e.g. for
Files), then the drop down menu appears and the other buttons start
responding to the mouse movements. Once an item is selected in a drop
down menu, the original issue reappears.

Cheers,

Adrian

The menus dont auto select but you can click
them with the mouse to drop the down. it’s an ugly not not a stopper
presently.

Adrian,

I see highlighting weirdness but it doesnt stop me hitting the menu -
can you conform that if you click on “File” for example the menu does
not drop down. It drops down here but does not ‘select’ by the
background becomming a different colour. I agree it needs sorting out
but it’s kinda out of my control - I need to search the dev forums…

I can confirm nothing happens when i click on file or any other buttons in that row. Unless I press Alt F then all the buttons work for one “click” only
