Hi, what has happened to the LYS -rating system?
It used to listed in the supported rating systems, but can’t find it any more in 2.25.4?

Hi Sampo,
As I was led to believe the LYS system has been renamed/replaced by the SRS
Both are the same, where Corrected = Elapsed * Rating
This is the same as TCF Time Correction Factor so if you wish you can use TCF

Ok, thanks - that makes sense, except for that LYS is still used in Finland. LYS became SRS only in Sweden.
Another question: is there no other way to input ratings in the system except for the .csv -file? I mean, there are several boats out there with “personalized” LYS-certificates, and it would be rather awkard to modify the .csv every time a bespoke boat is entered?
Seems to me that when results are scored, the ratings are always read from the file, and any input in the competitor data is overridden?
Hi Sampo,
Is the equation different between LYS & SRS?
You can enter the rating for a boat manually. It seems to me that on
the rating tab the auto update box is checked, if you are having
manually entered ratings overridden. If this is not the case if you
care to send me your Sailwave file and the ratings file I will have
a look at them and see if I can spot anything obvious.

Thanks,
there apparently was indeed something odd with my initial setup - started a new series from scratch and it works as expected.
Apropos the rating system - ours is actually called FinLYS these days, and the formula is same as always (like SRS), but the ratings are or may be different. I have here the .csv -file in which I have imported the data from Avomeripurjehtijat ry site (http://avomeripurjehtijat.org/lys-taulukko/).
Which brings me to the next subject: it would be nice if one could specify the custom rating system name (to be displayed in the results). It just might cause some concern then the table says “custom rating system”
Hi Sampo,
I suspect the only thing wrong with your original file is the “Auto set competitor ratings” box is ticked as Huw suggested.
If you tick this box every time you score the series it will set the ratings as per the ratings file you have supplied.
Without this ratings for each boat can be manually set.
As per the rating system to use, in your case, I would recommend using TCF (Time Correction Factor) which is what the FinLYS rating system is and this should not cause any confusion.
You can, of course, add a Note that you are using ratings as per FinLYS if you wish.
Hope that helps.
