MAPI32.DLL

Sorry if this is a hoary old chestnut but I can't find any mention
previously (probably due to too many cracks on the head from a Solo
boom).

Attempts to start V1.50 on two elderly laptops running Windows 98
(not SE)produces the error message "a required file MAPI32.DLL was
not found". As would be expected, the message does not appear on my
own W2000 box where the file is available.

Does V1.50 support the vintage version of Windows that club machines
run? They are both a bit long in the tooth to upgrade to XP or 2000.

Am I doing something daft. I dismiss this suggestion of course
but......

Hi Lindsay,

mapi32.dll...
Does V1.50 support the vintage version of Windows that club machines
run? They are both a bit long in the tooth to upgrade to XP or 2000.

I try to keep the use of Microsoft toys to a minimum; mapi32.dll was part of
the 98 installation files and came with sr1 of windows 95, so all but the
oldest versions of windows should support Sailwave. I would love to use
some of the newer controls, like embedded HTML viewers and XML parsers etc
but I am aware how old many 'club computers' are.

You need to find a suitable mapi32.dll - google will probably do it for you
using something like "download mapi32.dll windows 98". Or reinstall windows
98 including the components for email/browsing etc, it'll probably appear
then.

Also try the Microsoft windows 98 update site.
