Merge question

Hi

I've experimented with Sailwave a bit and have not found a way to
achieve what I want. It could be that I'm doing something wrong -
could someone please advise.

I've entered the results for an open meeting, consisting of three
races (on one day at one venue) with one discard. Everything works
more than OK!

This meeting is part of a larger series, which itself has a
discard/qualifying profile. The POSITION from the open meeting (i.e.
the Pos column in Sailwave) needs to become the position in a
particular column (race?) in the series.

Merging seems to append all three race results from the open meeting
to the end of the series races - not at all what I want.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this an unusual situation which is not
covered by Sailwave.

Thanks in advance.

Doug

Merging two regattas with three races in each gives you six races; not two
races, two each containing the final results from each regatta. You will
need to take the results from the regatta and enter them into your overall
series.

It's in the pipeline; but no it's not possible without faffing in excel etc
at present.

"faffing"? Cool, that's an activity that I have not yet experienced! BTW,
what exactly is it?

Hi Ian,

Faffing means (here) to have to fiddle around a lot/excessively to achieve
something and often fail in the end - could be a Scots/Welsh thing...
According to my wife I often faff around while doing gardening or DIY...
