Merging Gremlins

A few weeks ago, I was advised that the best way to run a long series
and to have one discard profile for a day of sailing (e.g. 1 in 5) but
another profile for the overall series (e.g. 1 in 3), is to create a
separate series for each day of sailing and then to use a copy of the
first day and sequentially merge the other days of sailing into this
"overall" series.

I tried this last night, after two weekends of sailing. Had problems
with version 1.44beta so I upgraded to 1.45. It eventually "appeared"
to work OK but not after bumping into a few gremlins. The main one
was as follows:

Race Day 1 had 5 races, R1-R5. Race Day 2 had 6 races, R1-R6. After
I merged Day 2 into Day 1, I got a series with only R1-10, missing
R11. I tried this several times. Then I tried merging Day 1 into Day
2 and got all 11 races, but in the wrong order. Then I go back to by
initial method and get all 11 races???

Any idea what I am doing wrong.

Nothing probably; could be a bug; the merge stuff is fairly new. Can you
send me race 1 and race 2 so I can debug if necessary.
