Hi,
have a file setup for a four race series with two fleets; one for the local SCCH handicap and the second for IRC.
Not all boats in the club have an IRC (if they do they are aliased from their SCCH).
On occasions we might have 7 yachts racing on a particular day, all with SCCH but only 1 with an IRC.
So for this race in the series the IRC does not count (we need three boats in a fleet to constitute a start).
But don’t forget that the SCCH start/race does count as there are 7 starters.
My question is when scoring the series by fleet how do I prevent the lone IRC boat in that race scoring a win with the rest scoring DNC?
Without three starters the race just does not exist for the IRC class.

Hi Steve,
I was hoping someone might have come up with an idea - my first thought would be to make it discard the race for this fleet which would have to be done manually by setting the “Discard me first” and increasing the discards by 1 effectively saying this race is discarded it should work OK, but it doesn’t do it automatically if there are less than 3 competitors.

John,
thanks for the suggestion which I shall try.

With a small fleet it hardly seems worth using ALIAS. If you made them separate fleets you just have a few more finish times.
