I’ve been tasked with sorting out our clubs results using sailwave. only about 15 boats involved! What would be the minimum requirements for a new laptop?

Welcome to the Sailwave User Group forum.
As Jon said pretty much any Microsoft Windows PC will run Sailwave.
My two cents worth follows.
The minimum requirement for a PC (laptop or desktop) to run Sailwave is much more tied to the operating system requirements and any other software, you might want to use on the device than Sailwave.
A Microsoft Surface Pro tablet with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD will run Sailwave. Although screen size is bit small. I would suggest at least a 15" screen and keyboard with numeric section or a USB / Bluetooth numeric pad.

Thanks for the info. Laptops are outside my sphere of knowledge!
It won’t be used for anything other than Sailwave and emailing the result sheets so if I went into my local branch of curry’s and bought a very cheap laptop with windows on it would that suffice?
If only used as I described would 4GB ram be sufficient.?

Hi Henry, certainly Sailwave would run with the 4 GB of RAM but typically you’re going to want to use Chrome or something like that for things also on the same laptop. If you ask AI what the minimum amount of RAM is on Windows 11 for Chrome, this is the answer
Short answer: Windows 11 runs Chrome comfortably with 8 GB of RAM, but 16 GB is the sweet spot for smooth performance—especially if you keep many tabs open.

A Windows 11 PC needs a minimum of 8GB and 256GB SSD / HD in my view.
Instead of going to Currys why not look at somewhere like LapTopsDirect refurbished laptops (Refurbished Laptops - Used and Reconditioned Laptop Deals - Laptops Direct) which will be quite OK for your clubs needs. Save a lot of money but that might not be an issue.
