Hi Malcolm

      In the

near future (18-25 June 2018) there will soon be an
Asian Sailing Championship race in Jakarta Indonesia, where
one of the race
numbers is the Mix Racing Team, a score of one man and one
woman from each
country will be combined together to give points overall for
each pair (team).

      According

to TD (Takao Otani Japan) this class is not a
“team race”, between RS: one Men and RS: one Women will be
different
fleet.

      I want

to ask;

      1. How

to combine or add score from the couple, does
sailwave have facility to calculate or combine 2 score from 2
participants?

      2.

What does it mean to add only the final or nett points?
or increase the score of each race from each pair ?.

This is not a conventional scoring requirement and as such is not directly supported in the standard Sailwave.

Although you can always export the results from Sailwave to Excel and perform calculations for unusual results.

You could consider using the Carried forward column to manually add the points from another competitor.

The other solution that may work for you (Need to know more details about the requirements) is the Sailwave Nation Ranking Calculator as used by World Sailing at the World Sailing Youth Worlds in China a few months ago December 2017.

The specification for this is

We have one sailor per country per event and there are nine events. Number of events may increase or decrease in the future - parameter should be adjustable.

On each day and each event, countries will be ranked according to their scores on that day. Lowest points receive one point, second receives two etc

*Countries not entered in the event will receive scores equal to the number of countries in the REGATTA plus one. *

Where there are ties the points will be shared

The country’s daily score will be the total of the best four events of that day. This parameter must be possible to be adjusted as it will be five or six next year.

*The total of all racing days will be the country’s overall score. *

Ties will be broken by the combined score of the last day. Remaining ties on the score of the second to last day and so on

This produces an output like this

I could produce a variation of this but unless it is highly generic there will be a charge for the custom software

                1. Sailwave cannot do that type of scoring,

unfortunately. It would be necessary to do this
externally, probably using Excel.

                Perhaps you could merge the two sets of results

(men, women), then sort on Country, then export to
Excel.

                2. Nett points are the final points less the discard

races. I’m not sure of the meaning of the 2nd
sentence.
