I have five fleets and entered them all into one file. They race at
different times and now two of the fleets have sailed five races and
three have sailed seven. If I have the discard profile set at two
after six races, it scores the boats who have sailed just five races
as DNC in those races. Can I remove those fleets from that file and
put them into a new file without reentering all the data? Thank, Ann
Copy your data file, then paste it twice. The first copy would be named
something appropriate to the fleets that raced five races, the second
would be named something appropriate to the fleets that raced seven races.
With the original copied for backup purposes, and appropriately named
working copies, open the five race file, and delete the fleets that raced
seven races, and vice versa for the other file. Voila, new, segregated
results with no data entry mistakes cropping up. HTH.
