what are waves? - think tweets on twitter - short messages that
can include references to objects. sailwave auto creates waves as
part of it’s auditing process and you can create your own waves (a
la twitter).
you can reference users, events and venues by prefacing the object
nickname with @, * and $ appropriately.
e.g.
"hi @sugmeister - check out the *test event and the $tbd venue."
the references become hyperlinks.
you can also reference event pages and items on those pages. for
example in the *test event there is a page called “docs” - you can
reference that in a wave using:-
*test/docs
[http://sailwave.com/mysail/index.php?object=event&nick=test&page=docs](http://sailwave.com/mysail/index.php?object=event&nick=test&page=docs)
there is an item on the docs page called "NOR"
and you can reference that with:-
*test/docs/NOR
so for example you could write a wave mentioning somebody
(“john2”) pointing them at a new page called “documents” that you
added to an event called “myopen”:-
"hi @john2 - i've added documents to the *myopen event here -
*myopen/documents"
each object has a "waves" page that shows mentions of that object
and in the case of users waves authored by that user.
just think generalised twitter...
